What our guided travelers say

Our guide Alistair was incredible — he knew every story behind every stone. Having someone who lives and breathes Scotland made all the difference. We learned things no guidebook would ever tell you.

As a solo traveler, the small group format was perfect. I made friends for life and the guide took us to places I never would have found on my own. The van was comfortable and the pace was just right.

We chose a private tour so our kids could go at their own pace. Best decision ever. The guide adapted everything to our family — castle visits became treasure hunts, and even the drives were fun with his storytelling.

FAQ

Guided tour questions

Everything you need to know about traveling Scotland with a guide.

Ask us anything
What type of vehicle do you use?
+

We use comfortable, modern minivans with large windows for panoramic views, air conditioning, USB charging, and ample luggage space. For smaller private groups (1–3), a premium SUV may be used. All vehicles are well-maintained and perfect for Scotland's varied roads.

Who are the guides?
+

Our guide-drivers are all Scotland-based locals with deep knowledge of the country's history, culture, and landscapes. They are licensed, insured, and passionate storytellers. Several are bilingual (English and French). Each guide is handpicked and personally vetted by our team — they're the heart of the experience.

Can I join a small group tour as a solo traveler?
+

Absolutely — many of our guests travel solo! Small group tours are a wonderful way to share the experience with like-minded travelers. A single supplement applies for accommodation (private room guaranteed), but we often help match solo travelers to reduce costs. Just ask us.

What's included in the price?
+

Both formats include: all transport in a private or shared van, expert guide-driver, handpicked accommodations with Scottish breakfast daily, curated itinerary, and 24/7 support. Not included: international flights, lunches, dinners (recommendations provided), entry fees to attractions (unless specified), travel insurance, and personal expenses.

How physical are the tours? Do I need to be fit?
+

Our tours are accessible to most fitness levels. Walking is optional and typically gentle — viewpoints, village strolls, and easy coastal paths. For private tours, we tailor everything to your abilities. We always offer alternatives, and the van is never far away. If you have specific mobility needs, let us know at booking and we'll plan accordingly.
