A private guided tour is your group, your van, your driver-guide, your itinerary. No coach, no strangers, no fixed departure dates. We meet you in Edinburgh (or Glasgow, or your Highland hotel), we drive you across Scotland at the pace you set, and we bring the country to life with the person at the wheel.
You choose the dates, the length, the regions, the accommodation standard and the pace. We handle everything on the ground, from the ferry to Skye to the whisky distillery reservation. Between two and eight travellers per booking is the sweet spot, though we regularly design tours for a couple travelling alone or a family of four.
What this is not: a scheduled small-group tour that mixes strangers on fixed dates. We do not currently offer that format. Every guided tour we run is private to your booking.
Guided is not the only right answer for Scotland. It is the right answer when you value depth over logistics, and when driving on the left is not what you came for.
Scotland's roads are narrow, its roundabouts are British, and single-track lanes on Skye demand practice. On a guided tour, you never touch a steering wheel. You look out of the window instead.
Cattle grid on the road? Golden eagle overhead? Ruined broch on the hillside? A local driver-guide will point out what a guidebook misses, and pause when the light is worth stopping for.

Each holds a full UK driving licence, is fully insured, and has been trained by the team on the route they cover. You are matched based on the regions you want to see, your dates, and any language preference (English throughout, French available if you have a French-speaking traveller in the group).

All prices are quoted in GBP. Foreign currency equivalents shown alongside are indicative only. Contracts and payments are in GBP through Stripe, which accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express issued anywhere in the world.

Reserved for trips where a chauffeur-driver-guide adds value a self-drive booklet cannot deliver: short breaks where you have no time to lose on logistics, premium access with private tastings, or compressed itineraries that demand someone at the wheel. Prices based on two sharing standard boutique accommodation and a private van up to 8 travellers.

No. A private guided tour adapts to your pace and physical ability. If you can walk half an hour on flat ground, you can do most of what we suggest. Longer hikes are optional and always signposted in your itinerary. Tell us upfront about mobility considerations and we design around them.
No. We do not book international flights. You book those directly and we build the ground itinerary around your arrival and departure. This keeps things clean legally under UK Package Travel Regulations and lets you use miles, upgrade programmes and preferred carriers.
