You rent a car when you land, you drive between the stops we have designed, you sleep in the accommodation we have booked, and you eat where our booklet suggests (or somewhere better you found on the day). We are on WhatsApp if something goes sideways.

Roundabouts turn clockwise. Your steering wheel is on the right. Give yourself the first hour after pick-up in easier traffic before you head into the Highlands. Every UK and US driver we have taken through this has adjusted within a day.
Common on Skye, the Outer Hebrides, and the far northwest. You give way in the passing bay marked with a diamond sign. If the oncoming car is closer to a passing place, they use it and you wait. Simple etiquette that keeps a country running.
Road signs and speed limits are in miles per hour throughout the UK. Your car's speedometer will be too. Highway maps in your booklet show both miles and kilometres for clarity.
Your rental will typically be diesel, more efficient over Highland distances. Filling stations are frequent in the central belt and thin out in the far north. Our booklet flags where to top up.

You then rent your car separately, pick it up on arrival, and drive the itinerary at your own pace. We stay on WhatsApp support throughout the trip.
No. Car rental is arranged separately, either directly with a supplier (Enterprise, Sixt, Arnold Clark, Europcar all operate at Edinburgh and Glasgow airports) or through our trusted local partners on request. Keeping the rental separate lets you use your own insurance, loyalty programmes, and preferred size of car. We can recommend trusted operators and typical costs, but the contract is yours.
UK, US, Canadian, Australian and EU driving licences are accepted in Scotland for short-term rental (typically up to 12 months). No International Driving Permit is required for these. If your licence is not in Latin script, or if you are visiting from certain other countries, an IDP may be needed. Rental companies will confirm this at booking.

Self-drive tours start from around £990 per person for a shorter regional trip (based on 2 sharing, standard boutique accommodation) and reach £3,990 per person for a longer, high-end circuit with premium accommodation.
